How to Contribute in Myanmar Spring Revolution

Execution of revolutionaries by hanging

My dearly respected fellow citizens,
In recent days, the people of the Union of Myanmar have been left in shock and deep grief over the brutal and cold-blooded execution of four honorable citizens—U Kyaw Min Yu (also known as Ko Jimmy), U Phyo Zeya Thaw, Ko Hla Myo Aung, and Ko Aung Thura Zaw—by the inhumane and barbaric cruelty of Min Aung Hlaing and his cohorts.

The terrorist military council led by Min Aung Hlaing has repeatedly shown utter contempt for the people of Myanmar. For the sake of clinging to power, it has continuously violated even the very laws and regulations it drafted itself. The execution of young people—who are of immense value to the future development of the country—out of sheer hatred and vengeance is recognized by all as a grave and irreparable loss for the nation.

Despite appeals from the United States, Japan, European countries, ASEAN Chair Cambodia’s Prime Minister Hun Sen, and the United Nations urging the military council not to carry out executions, the military regime ignored all calls and proceeded with the death sentences of U Kyaw Min Yu (Ko Jimmy), U Phyo Zeya Thaw, Ko Hla Myo Aung, and Ko Aung Thura Zaw. This act shows blatant disrespect toward neighboring countries and the international community, while demonstrating their arrogance by cruelly and brutally killing their own people. By targeting these democracy activists—who stood firmly on the side of truth and justice—the terrorist military council is using executions as a weapon of fear and intimidation against the people.

The actions of the military council show complete disregard for the values that the international community places on global peace. As long as Min Aung Hlaing and his terrorist military council remain in power, human dignity and human rights will continue to be systematically violated. It is now abundantly clear that they can never build a democratic and peaceful nation based on international standards. In other words, the very existence of military dictatorship itself demonstrates that the security of the country cannot be safeguarded under their rule.

However, as these dictators imagine, the people are not living in fear. The people will never bow down in terror to violent oppression. Instead, such brutality awakens even stronger determination to resist. The execution of the four revered martyrs does not break the people’s spirit—it fuels it. Their sacrifice has become a powerful force that drives the Spring Revolution forward with even greater momentum.
Therefore, with the deepest respect, I appeal to the United Nations and all nations of the world that uphold the dignity of humanity.

• We earnestly call upon the international community to stand united and ensure that the terrorist military council, which is lawlessly slaughtering the people, is not recognized or treated as a legitimate authority in any form.

The international community must cut off the main sources of revenue that sustain the military council. It is imperative to block and halt the flow of tax and treasury funds derived from oil and natural gas.

• Only the National Unity Government (NUG) represents the will of the people. We therefore urge the international community to officially recognize the NUG as the sole legitimate government of Myanmar.

• We urgently call upon the international community to provide financial and technical assistance to the National Unity Government (NUG) and its allied ethnic resistance organizations in the areas of administration, justice, humanitarian support for displaced persons, as well as in education and healthcare.

• We urgently appeal for effective support in the form of technology, arms and ammunition, and financial resources for the people who are sacrificing their lives in the struggle against the fascist military dictatorship and for the cause of democracy.

• We earnestly call on the international community to cooperate and take effective action to hold the military junta accountable for the war crimes it has committed.

• We also call on ASEAN to take effective action by completely excluding and refusing to invite representatives of the military council.

• We urge ASEAN to review its ineffective “Five-Point Consensus” on Myanmar and to move beyond it, providing real support for efforts to remove the military dictatorship.

Dear fellow citizens, who are mourning the unjust execution of U Jimmy, U Phyo Zeya Thaw, Ko Hla Myo Aung, and Ko Aung Thura Zaw,

• The State, with profound sorrow, pays tribute to the revolutionaries who were executed.

• Because of the military council's cruel and inhumane executions, the Spring Revolution will not retreat in fear but will instead blaze forward with even greater force.

• The terrorist military council’s execution of pro-democracy leaders is nothing more than an act of intimidation. Yet, we will not bow our heads or surrender to such threats. We will continue to fight until Min Aung Hlaing and the terrorist military are defeated. At the same time, as citizens of this nation, it is vital that everyone takes part in the Spring Revolution — with no cart left behind, no horse left behind — until victory is won.

• We especially urge all citizens, both inside the country and abroad, to continue investing in the people’s revolution. Every contribution is a driving force that accelerates the momentum of our struggle, and we must all recognize that financial support remains a decisive factor in bringing the revolution to its victorious conclusion.

• Our government is also determined to honor our fallen heroes by ensuring that they are laid to rest with dignity in the Martyrs’ Mausoleum.

Dear PDFs and LDFs who are fighting in the Spring Revolution by dedicating your lives and futures,

• Our revolution is noble because it is a revolution that protects the people and stands firmly against tyranny.

• The armed revolutionary forces must remain united. With the vision of building a future Federal Army, you must train and assemble with one blood, one voice, and unquestioning obedience to a common command.

• Do not tremble in fear at the threats of the terrorist military. Instead, strive to respond and hold accountable Min Aung Hlaing and each of the war criminal killers of the military council.

We honor the blood and loyalty of U Jimmy, U Phyo Zeya Thaw, Ko Hla Myo Aung, Ko Aung Thura Zaw, and all the brave heroes of the Spring Revolution who gave their lives before us. Their sacrifices are of immeasurable value, and we must uphold them with dignity. I urge everyone to continue with unwavering commitment, until we bring the Spring Revolution to its rightful and final victory.

Respected ethnic revolutionaries,

• I would like to extend my gratitude and recognition to our allied organizations — the ULA/AA, KNU, KNPP, CNF, and ABSDF — as well as to all ethnic armed organizations, political parties, and revolutionary forces that have strongly condemned the brutal execution of the four martyrs.

• This is no longer a time for hesitation. The moment has come for all ethnic nationalities, including the Bamar people, to join hands in unity and decisively eradicate the terrorist military forces that the nation so deeply abhors.

• The time has come to make the best use of our manpower and our arms, and to launch coordinated counter-attacks with clear strategic unity.

Fellow citizens serving in the terrorist military, the BGF, and the so-called People’s Militias,

• The time has come to abandon self-interest. The time has come to stand together with the people, who are enduring countless hardships in their struggle against dictatorship. Change your stance now—stand with the people without delay.

• As the NUG government, we are always ready to welcome you on behalf of the people.

• Quickly join and cooperate with the nearest PDF and ERO camps along with your weapons and ammunition.

• I strongly urge you to change sides quickly while you still have the chance — before you and your future generations are forever burdened with the dark stain of crime.

Finally, I wish to make a special appeal to all political parties: under no circumstances should you lend legitimacy or participate in the 2023 election — the sham political escape route being shamefully pursued by terrorist Min Aung Hlaing and his military. Instead, we must collectively resist the terrorist military council’s actions that only serve to delay and obstruct the success of the people’s revolution.

In conclusion, I bow my head in deep respect to all those who continue to suffer under the atrocities of the terrorist military council: the displaced people driven from their homes, the families of our fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country, those who have lost their homes and possessions, and every individual who is actively engaged in the Spring Revolution in all its sectors. On behalf of myself and the National Unity Government, I pledge our unwavering commitment to strive until the people’s revolution is brought to a successful and decisive conclusion as swiftly as possible. With this promise, I once again offer my deepest respect to all the people of our nation.

Revolution Must Prevail!
