Republic of the Union of Myanmar \nNational Unity Government \nPress Release from the President Office\u2019s Spokesperson<\/strong>
12th September 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. National Unity Government Acting President Duwa Lashi La recognizes the essential role of the revolutionary forces fighting to eradicate the military junta in Myanmar and is closely monitoring their situation and progress.<\/p>\n

2. Accordingly, on 2 May 2023, the Acting President and Defense Minister U Yee Mon met with the leader of the Myanmar Royal Dragoon Army (MRDA) Bo Na Gar via Zoom.<\/p>\n

3. The main objectives of the meeting were to encourage participation in the Chain of Command (COC) established by the Ministry of Defense and revolutionary allies according to military regions, to coordinate and cooperate with the administrative and defense mechanisms that the National Unity Government is building on the ground, and to accept and participate in the security sector reform programs to be implemented during the post-revolutionary period.<\/p>\n

4. This was the full extent of the discussion. The Acting President and Union Minister U Yee Mon raised no further issues nor made any agreements.<\/p>\n
